Specific requirements for getting a driver’s license in the United States vary from state-to-state, but all states mandate potential drivers take a behind the wheel, or in-car, road skills test. In the state of Florida, drivers must demonstrate basic competencies to pass the driving test, including mastery of the following driving maneuvers.

Drive Safely and Make Complete Stops

Drivers in Florida will be expected to drive safely at a minimum of 20mph then come to a complete stop. When approaching a stop sign, drivers should prepare to stop by taking their foot off the gas pedal and applying pressure to the brake until the car rolls to a complete stop just before the stop sign.

After the car has stopped, drivers should look right and left, briefly, before proceeding and only do so when safe. If a turn is necessary, indicate with the directionals before the turn. A driver should signal each and every time a turn is being made.
